What Youll Do Lead Housing Standards Improvements: Oversee the investigation and resolution of housing condition complaints and substandard Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). Mentor and Supervise: Provide guidance to team members, including apprentices, students, and contract workers, fostering their professional development. Enforcement and Compliance: Take responsibility for formal enforcement actions in line with housing regulations and council policy. Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including landlords, tenants, and partner organisations, to drive improvements in housing quality. Energy Efficiency Initiatives: Lead on projects to ensure compliance with Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) and improve energy efficiency in the boroughs housing stock. Policy Development: Contribute to council strategies for licensing schemes, empty property management, and private housing standards. About You You are an ambitious professional with a proven track record in housing enforcement or environmental health.
